Datasets
For all CloudBilling customers, the associated datasets are available as a separate product. The data from CloudBilling is stored as a database table in a centralised repository called a data warehouse. There is event-based data synchronisation between CloudBilling’s database and the data warehouse. This means whenever there are any changes in CloudBilling, the changes are updated in the data warehouse as well. This document provides a comprehensive explanation of the datasets available in the data warehouse and how to access them. Customers can access the data to gain insights, build custom dashboards, integrate billing date with other business applications, or automate complex reporting tasks. Below are some examples you might want to report on:
- Insights on how customers use public cloud products to review existing contracts and make potentially more competitive offers.
- For enterprise products, usage-based billing data can be used to improve the product’s life cycle management.
- Gain insights on KPIs such as products sold the most, products generating the highest revenue, and the products generating the highest profit in any given time period.
The datasets are structured in database tables and are accessible using your Microsoft Entra ID. Our consultants will configure the access management to provide your ID with the necessary rights for accessing the datasets. The datasets provide critical information categorised by Customer, Invoices, Products, Public Cloud Usage, Enterprise Products Usage, and Invoice Line Items, giving customers the flexibility to tailor their analysis to meet specific needs.
The sections that follow will provide detailed descriptions of each available dataset, including field definitions, access methods, example queries, and important considerations. We encourage you to refer to these sections to understand how to effectively use our datasets in your applications and analyses.
