Connectors

What is a connector?

Connectors retrieve and process data from cloud providers, like Microsoft or AWS. They create products, pricing rules and purchases so that all your usage gets processed and ends up on your customers’ invoices.

Can I activate a connector myself?

Technically, yes. But we strongly recommend only doing it with the help of a CloudBilling consultant. Connectors are usually set up during the implementation process. Additional clouds and connectors can be added later with assistance from a CloudBilling consultant.

The connector status has a red exclamation mark, what do I do?

A red exclamation mark means that a potentially consequential error has occurred, possibly resulting in missing usage for one or more customers. If that connector’s next run is successful, no further action is required. However, if a red error persists for more than one connector run in a row, please contact support@cloudbilling.nl. Be sure to include the text of the error message in your e-mail.

The connector status has a yellow exclamation mark, what do I do?

A yellow exclamation mark means an issue was encountered during the connector run. However, it is not necessarily problematic. We advise reading the error message. If the same error is persistent over a longer period, please contact support@cloudbilling.nl. Be sure to include the text of the error message in your e-mail.

The connector status in the Dashboard warns that there are incomplete customer mappings, what does this mean?

Unmapped customers are tenants or accounts that we retrieve from a cloud providers’ partner center or management console that have not been mapped to a customer in CloudBilling. These are shown at the top of the Customer Mapping page on the right side of the table. Connectors will not retrieve usage for unmapped customers, which could result in usage missing from invoices. As such, we recommend mapping all customers.
